Jewelry + Door curtains!

On Friday I decided to clean up my end table by my bed because it was quite a disaster. I had a small earring holder, but it didn't fit all of my earrings and it was pretty ugly. But when I went to bunco a while ago, Holly brought this cute holder, and I picked it! So I hung it up and as I was putting my earrings on it, I realized the the smaller ones with backs would be impossible to get off without taking the whole holder down, so I decided to make small boxes to hold them. So I got a cereal box, and whipped up some boxes (that aren't symmetrical or straight at all.. but who cares!?), painted the outsides black and the insides a different color and hung them up! And I was pretty proud of myself!

I finally hung up my necklaces too! They all used to be in a shoe box, and were ALWAYS tangled!
I moved my table sideways instead of sticking out and I love it! Such a small change, but it makes a huge difference!

I put my bracelets up too, but it's very inconvenient to get to them.. so if you think of something better, let me know!
I've also been wanting to re-do the curtains that are on our front door, because they're quite "grandma-ish" and we're not grandparents!! I've been looking for black and white vertical striped fabric for a while but couldn't find any! Until one day at Joanne's, they had the perfect fabric in the Halloween section!

And I saw a fall wreath on pinterest that was in a square instead of a circle and fell in love! So I went to Michael's and they had two long strip things with tons of leaves on them for half off! So I got them both for $6 and for the back I just cut the top of a Pizza Hut box!

It's way cute, huh?!

Pile on the miles!

Sharsti Scott is very inspirational when it comes to working out. She's run just under 500 miles this year, many of those were in half marathons and other races. Well she just joined in with a group of people pledging to pile on the miles rather than pounds this holiday season, and I thought that would be a great idea! I know I'm awful at keeping up with workout routines, but I decided that I want to walk anywhere from 1 to 3 miles everyday, preferably with Cody. And since I decided to do it with him, it's an even better reason to go! We went tonight and didn't go too hard, just walked at a pretty dang slow pace, ended up being gone for about an hour and walked 3 miles!! Needless to say, I was pretty proud of us(: So I'll keep updating my miles (probably just on facebook, unless I can figure out how to add it to my blog) and I'm really excited to get more active! I added the little widget to the sidebar, so if you're interested in doing it too, go ahead and click on it and it'll take you to the main blog with more info!

I'm kind of a business woman now..

I learned how to crochet last week, made a scarf and put it on Facebook and had a lot of people talking about buying one from me. So, I made another blog where I can put my scarves up and people can buy them! So, that's pretty cool (:

The blog is RIGHT HERE!!

So look at it, and buy something (: Well, technically, there's only one scarf on there. But I just finished another one that's off-white color, and I'm about to make a black one. So make a color suggestion, and then we'll do business!

Fall Checklist

Just wanted to share something that I found on Pinterest that I'm so excited to do! (Super plus, Cody wants to do them too!)
I've never been much of a Fall fan, but this year I'm so excited for it! (Maybe it's just because of this bucket list?) Anyways, I hope you use it and love it!!

A couple of my favorites that I want to do right this second: Take a nature walk, Go to a pumpkin patch, Make leaf art, and drink fancy coffee drinks {Caramel Cream Frappuccinno with extra Caramel from Starbucks!! Coffee free, and absolutely delicious!}

Dexter's Diaries

Hello everyone.. I'm Dexter, I guess.. Mom and Dad gave me about 20 different names last night, and they said they're going to keep this one... but we'll see.

Mom came and got me yesterday, and took me away from my Dad, brother's and sister.. I didn't like that. Then she tried putting me in a kennel, but I just wanted to be on her lap. We got "home", so she called it, and at first, I didn't like it at all! The yard was too big and scary, the neighbor's dogs were mean and made me run inside and hide.

I did go potty outside though, which made Mom and Dad really happy, so I'll keep doing that (:

My favorite things to do in this new house are:
-Whine.. because I'm sad and in a confusing place.
-Curl up in a ball on the couch next to Mom while she either does homework, or watched Bones.
-Sit on Mom or Dad's lap when we're in the car.
-Give kisses to Mom and Dad!

I really like my parents, and I like my new home, but I'm just shy so they think I don't like it. I can't wait to run around in the yard and wrestle with Daddy! See you later!

This post is pretty much for Kayla.. or anyone else that doesn't check facebook, but looks at my blog

We got a puppy! And I know you don't like puppies, Kayla, but you need to know (: We absolutely love him! But I'll tell the story first!

We went on a hike up Donut falls on Saturday, and it's FREAKING GORGEOUS!! It was a pretty dang easy hike, but it was absolutely worth it! The hike up to the actual Donut part was a little tough, and you have to walk through a little stream, but it's pretty easy to stay out of the water.

After the hike, we were STARVING, so we decided to eat at Kneaders.. Which is a very special treat because of how expensive they are. But it was delicious beyond all measurement!! We then decided it would be fun to rent a movie.. yanno, from Blockbuster! So we were looking all over for them, and ended up at Animal Ark, where Blockbuster used to be right next to. So of course, we go inside and start looking around, and I'm not kidding.. there are some of thee cutest dogs there! It seriously broke my heart to have to leave without one! They were about $700, and I was just about ready to unload our savings account.. Good thing Cody was there to stop me. So we leave, keep searching for a Blockbuster, turns out there isn't any in our area (.. maybe at all?) so we gave up and went home. But the second we got home, I was looking on KSL, Craigslist, Nickle Saver, shelters.. EVERYWHERE to find a puppy! We wanted a small one, just because of our situation right now, and Grandma said it was okay to have him outside.. (so don't tell her that we keep him inside..) and I was sooo sad because we couldn't find the right one. So we posted something on Facebook asking if anyone was giving away a small puppy, for free preferably, but we'd spend a little bit if necessary.

Then, Cody's cousin, Carmin, commented. I didn't even see it, my sister texted me and told me that someone said they had a puppy for us! Turns out, here dog had puppies, and they were trying to find homes for them. She was selling them for around $400, but the second I saw that, I realized it wasn't a possibility. But when she commented, she said she wasn't looking for money, just a good home for him. So we went and saw him on Sunday afternoon, fell in love, and picked him on on Monday! (After I bought all the necessities!)

Cody and I are both SO IN LOVE WITH HIM!! He is the cutest thing ever! I need to cut the hair that's in front of his eyes so he can see, but I want to wait until he's REALLY comfortable with us first.

Anyways, he's a Shih Tzu, 13 weeks old, and his name when we got him was Stryker, but he doesn't answer to it (and he doesn't look like a Stryker) so we're thinking of changing his name to Dexter (: I'll let you know if that name's the one that lasts, and I'm sure I'll be doing some "Dexter Diaries" posts on the blog now.. So look forward to getting to know him more!
