I'm branching out.

Like my hot knee brace?! Yeah, me neither.

I had a gym membership at 24 Hour Fitness for a while, then switched to Gold's Gym, and then Cody and I decided that I would try to work out at home and outside instead of spending over $30 for a membership. So today, I'm going to run outside... it's going to be hard with my retarded ankles and knees, but I'll do my best! I'm kinda scared that I'll get somewhere and not be able to make it back because I'm completely dead.. Wish me luck!

On other, completely random out of the blue news, we're going to Wyoming this weekend! It's about an 8 hour drive, but we're going to see this cute family!

It's baby Mikey's birthday, and the rest of the family decided to take a trip out there, so we're joining! I'm kinda excited to just up and leave! (Hope it actually happens!)

My crafty goals for this week: 

`Make a book of all the wedding cards I got, inspired by this here website
`Figure out what to do in this window thing above my sink that looks into the laundry/fridge/junk room that I don't want to look at..

`Decorate my kitchen walls. BOY ARE THEY BORING!
`Maybe get some of my favorite quotes printed and put them in picture frames?
`Not sure if this counts, but try doing more creative things with my hair!

Finished Heart

The heart that I made the other day out of book pages is done! I didn't want it to just say "Lovely" like the picture I saw on Pinterest, but "I'll love you forever".. So, I made it say just that! 

The cursive lettering is not very straight or good looking, but I used this tutorial, and when I left them to dry, they popped up in weird ways.. And I halved the recipe, but next time I do it, or for future reference, maybe put a heavy object on top of the words when you're leaving it to dry? Probably a glass bowl or something that will be less likely to stick to the glue.

Cooking for two

IS SO HARD!! Especially since all of the recipes I have are from my mom who always cooked for an army. Last night I decided to make Chicken Parmesan, and I had this brilliant idea to only use two chicken breasts instead of the 4 it called for. I just put it in a smaller pan with half the spaghetti sauce and it worked out perfectly! This was one of the easier recipes to cut right in half, so that helped! And it was super delicious, and I'm really excited to do this with all of the recipes I have! Also, if you have any good recipes, I'm looking to expand my collection of them!

Crafts, crafts, CRAFTS!

I have been in such a crafty mood lately! I've been doing things to make our house "Our Home" lately, and I'm loving the way it's turning out! I took down the lovely orange curtains and replaced them with sheer white ones! They don't keep the sun out, or our privacy, but they're much better than orange!

Then I decided to give my mini Book Of Mormon a cute cover!

I just used Mod Podge and scrapbook paper!

I finally made this from pinterest! I'm planning on adding words, and I'll definitely post a picture whenever I get around to that!

I bought cute colorful pictures and put them on the sides, which I'll put a picture up later of those!

 And I already put this on facebook, but I made this from what I saw on pinterest too!

I wanted more than just white and yellow though, so I made it nice and colorful!

And hung it up in my kitchen!

Then I painted my frames back to black.. they were black to start with, we painted them white for the wedding but I didn't like that look with my house, so I just used Acrylic paints and made it look rustic looking!

Anyways, I'm just a busy busy bee! I haven't been so diligent in taking pictures for PL this week.. maybe they'll just be all craft pictures? We'll see. Happy Thursday!

A clean kitchen.

I absolutely loved the fact that I came home from school today to see a clean kitchen! We don't have a dishwasher (well we do, but it's un-usable) so every day/night after all of our meals, there's a stack of dishes.. and sometimes a few days go past without them being cleaned.. Whoops! And when there's a pile at night, I leave them there because I'd rather spend time with Cody while he's home instead of wasting time on dishes! So I do them in the morning when I'm done with breakfast, or when I get home on the days that I have school. Well, THERE WEREN'T ANY DISHES IN THE SINK THIS MORNING! And then I remembered that we went to Costco last night for dinner! Who can pass up $1.50 polish dog plus a drink?!? So just over $3 for a meal & drinks for both Cody and myself?!? Heck yes! I didn't take pictures.. dangit.

Also, happy news: I had my last History class today!! The final is next Wednesday, and I need to get a good grade so I can pass the class (:

I talked to my counselor yesterday and got all registered for classes for summer and fall! I'm taking an online Intro to Meteorology class during the summer, and IT'S MY LAST GENERAL EDUCATION CLASS!!!!! I'm on the waitlist, and just since yesterday I've gone from number 11 to number 9! So cross your fingers that I can get it and get it done with! Then for the fall I'm enrolled in 5 Early Childhood classes, leaving 5 for Spring semester, AND THEN I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it has come to this. I never thought I'd be able to see an end of the tunnel. Especially since it took me so long to figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up (I made that decision probably around Sept of last year...)

This website is seriously so cool! I've been slacking a little on my daily reading of the Book of Mormon, but I've just been so busy with cleaning the house, doing homework, going to the gym, blah blah blah. So yesterday as I was washing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen I got this brilliant idea to go to lds.org and LISTEN to the scriptures! So dang cool! So I went from not reading at all to getting to listen to 6 chapters!
I've never been one to know every story in the Book of Mormon, or who did what, so this year as I'm going through it, and more carefully paying attention so I can teach my primary class about it, I'm learning so much! And of course, every time I read it I get a little more from it, but it's just so amazing that we have these scriptures that we can read whenever we want and learn about things that happened in our church history in the past! Golly, I just love it! And it has a million other things that you can do on that website, I just can't even believe it.

Anyway, I'll quit my rambling. I've never been good at expressing my religious feelings. Just know that I love the Book of Mormon and I'm so glad I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (:
