School, school, school.

Or as Megamind would say it, "shool". (If you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch Megamind.) Anyways, I've never been a good studier. I have too busy of a mind and the attention span of about 12 seconds to a minute... If I'm lucky. So, when I tell you that I've been studying for 2 and a half hours straight, you are obligated to feel shocked and proud of me. (except for the fact that I'm now blogging, and no longer studying..) Holy goodness gracious. Talk about the almost death of me! I have a midterm paper that I'm going to turn in on Monday (not due until Friday the 2nd, but if I turn it in on Mon, I get 10 extra credit points! holla!) and it has to be 3-5 pages with at least 5 sources. But I've decided to work even further ahead and find more sources that I will need for the final 10 page paper (SLA;FDLASK. I MIGHT DIE.) that needs at least 12 sources. Luckily, I'm writing on a topic that is actually interesting to me and is going to help me in the future when I'm a Mom and also for my Early Childhood Development degree. My paper is on the importance of parental involvement in a child's education.

WOAH! Sorry.. I'm not going to write my paper here, although I scared myself when I read that first paragraph! The point of this is.. I don't like all the studying that I'm doing. Not a fan, never have been, never will be. BUT, hopefully it'll pay off. As long as I pass my classes this semester, I will only have ONE MORE GENERAL EDUCATION CLASS TO TAKE!! HALLELUJAH! Then it's just two more semesters of ECD classes and I'm done!!

Well.. back to homework I go..

American Sign Language

Cody and I are taking the second level ASL class at UVU together, and it's every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:30 to 8 and it's so incredibly fun! The people in our class think we're geniuses because we can read fingerspelling, and learning this language makes both of us so happy! So last night when we returned home from school, we decided to only communicate in ASL! So freaking cool! We had to look up a few new words, and fingerspell a bunch, but totally worth it! And when we had our dinner, I even prayed in ASL! This will hopefully help us develop our skills even more than if we just signed in class, and someday we'll be professionals!!! So if you see us around, not saying any words, but talking with our hands? You'll know why. And you'll probably be jealous (:

Here, learn the alphabet!

Word of advice: .. and other random words.

Do NOT watch Cake Boss after going to the gym. You will end up making 3 dozen chocolate chip cookies.. and eating half of the batch of dough before it even gets to the oven.

On another note, I'm really frustrated. I follow Elise Blaha's blog, and she inspires me like no other!! But I don't have enough time to do all the stuff that comes into my head when I look at her blog, and it's irritating!! Can't I just forget about school, cleaning my house, and life all together and just create things?!?! Please, oh please?!

Like this Project Life thing she's started.. I'm going to do it! I hate scrapbooking, which is why I started doing Altered Books a few years back.. But then I stopped doing that because it takes a lot more time than I've had access to lately. But this project is absolutely perfect for me! Print off a few pictures, write a couple words, and you have a beautiful book that holds memories that might be forgotten in a few years. I. AM. SOOOOOO excited to start this!! I just need to find a way to make a couple bucks to buy it so I don't have to spend our money and feel bad about it (:

Also, Friday's have a completely new meaning now that I'm married to my favorite person in the entire world. Friday's mean that yes, I have to say goodbye to him in the morning, but when he comes home, HE'S HOME FOR THE WEEKEND!! I get to spend every second with him from 4:25ish until the following Monday! Love love love it!

Happy weekend everyone! Grab your lovely and do something amazingly simple and fun!

I'm so lucky!!

Sidenote: This is our first official holiday as a married couple!!!

My husband is thee most caring, loving person I've ever met! Whenever he does anything for me, it always has the most personal reasons behind it. Like Valentines Day this year! He came home from a long day of work with the cutest teddy bear that had a sweatshirt on that said "Good morning babe! I LOVE YOU!" on it, and a white mixing bowl on his head.

This was not the normal "stuffed animal for your lover on valentines day". He got this for me because he has to get up at 5:30 in the morning to get ready for work, and he leaves shortly after. And it's the hardest thing in the world for him to leave me, and for me to let him go. I just want to be with him every second of every day, and saying goodbye is so hard! So he got me the bear to cuddle with when he leaves, so it's kinda like he's still there with me. He got the sweatshirt for the bear because he wears sweatshirts to work everyday, and the mixing bowl was the bear's hard hat, because Cody wears hard hats every day at work. Plus the little inscription of Good Morning Babe! I LOVE YOU! Is because I can't even text him when he's at work, nor can he tell me good morning when I decide to wake up, so this is our way of communication until his lunch break (: So not only do I get a cute, super soft cuddle buddy bear, but it's a mini Cody!!

And the flowers he got me were not only gorgeous, but also had a cute meaning to them! I don't know exactly what kind of flowers they were, but he said that he was looking at all of the flowers in the store, and there were boring roses, that most likely everyone was going to get for their wives. But when he saw these flowers, these thoughts ran through his head:
Haha, we don't have any vases yet..

-These flowers are unique and I haven't seen very many if any at all like these. That's how Shaylin is.. unique, and unlike anyone else.
-They are purple, and Shaylin wears purple a lot, and it's one of her favorite colors right now.
-There are some that are all the way bloomed, but there are some that are still buds, but are going to grow. This represents my love for Shaylin, because I feel like I love her so much, but everyday, my love grows bigger and bigger and will never stop growing.

Um.. If this isn't the cutest thing in the world, I don't know what is. And I LOVE that he didn't get me chocolate!! I really really HATE Valentine's chocolate that comes in those heart shaped boxes.. Bleh! Plus, we have tons of left over candy from our reception (:

I got him the Usher Black cologne.. although he already kinda knew he was getting it. We had 25 dollars of in-store credit at Kohls, so we went there the other day and found this delicious smelling cologne. They didn't have any in the back though, so we didn't buy it. But I surprised him with it on Tuesday! I also got him a head massager/spider looking thing! When we were in Mexico, we saw this at one of the street vendor's shops and Cody fell in love with it! But we didn't get it for some reason, and he was really really sad! It's so cool feeling, and I'm super glad we got it! I also wrote a bunch of sticky notes and put them on his side of the headboard that had cute sayings on them like "Marrying you was the best idea I ever had" and "You are my best friend" .. etc. (:

Then we decided to stay home from our Sign Language class and enjoy a yummy Poppyseed Chicken dinner and start Season 1 of How I Met Your Mother, which by the way, is freaking hilarious! And the first 6 seasons are on the watch instantly section of Netflix! Cuddling with my man and watching a good show = perfect way to end our Valentine's Day together(:

This post is for Kayla!

And I'm pretty sure she's the only one that reads my blog, so this is totally acceptable to do!

I'd like to start off by saying that I was listening to Pandora the other day and the song "Mrs. Robinson" by Simon & Garfunkel came on, and it definitely reminded me of you!

PICTURES!! Since you're not on Facebook anymore, I put all of my engagements, a couple bridals, and all the honeymoon pictures on my google+ account, and I found you on there and added you to my circles so you can see them! If you don't use your google+ account, you should. Cause you asked for pictures, and that's the easiest way to do that.

You wanted pictures of inside my house.. I can't do that yet. It's still a freaking mess! We have so much crap in the two front rooms, and there aren't any decorations up yet! I promise I'll put some up on here when we get it all put together (: But the house is 2 blocks away from the Gold's Gym in Orem, and one block north from the Cinemark that's right by the Orem Mall!

And yes, I'm still in school. So far, I'm doing pretty good. But I have a midterm (5 pages) paper that I have to turn in for english in  a couple weeks and I'm almost convinced that it's going to kill my grade. But I'm doing my best!!

Annnd... I think I answered all your questions (: LOVE YOU KAYLA!

I have a talented and silly husband. Lookie here (:

Hahahahaha I love this picture

Hardcore parkour!

Look! I'm climbing on the tree!

"No! Watch my bum move!" (Kid History)

He wasn't even struggling to keep himself up!

Front flip on the gate!

Mailbox!

Our mailman told us he didn't like our little mailbox that was attached to our house, and he suggested we get a bigger one by the street. So we did just that! Bought the cheapest mailbox and stand from walmart and set it up all by ourselves! See??

Cody set up the pole, attached the pole to the box, and dug a hole in the ground for the pole!

Nice hair in the middle of my face, huh?
I put all the little pieces on the mailbox!

I know you wanted a side view (:

We're kinda really talented. And I'm pretty sure Mr. Mailman is very happy that he gets to be lazy and stay in his car!

I love date weekends!

On Friday, we went to the Timpanogos Temple.. and there is nothing comparable to going to the temple with your husband!! Turns a bad day right around! After that, we went to Red Robin and ate some super delicious foods (part of which I finished for lunch today!)! And no pictures were taken, because I've kinda been going on strike from my 50 pound purse.. and that's where the camera is.

Saturday was our day off from everything! Well, Cody had to go to a lab in the morning, but then we cleaned a little, ate some food, and went on a cute little walk!! It was so nice outside!! And here are some pictures from that!

This is our house!! Nice and fancy (; And a huge yard!!

The view from just down the road

Sometimes Cody struggles..

and struggles..

Ah! There's a good one (:

We saw a whole quail family!! Babies and all!
After our walk, we went to Comedy Sportz! I love that place! So freaking funny!

Sammy's! It was my first time there!

Cody very much enjoying his burger

Cody had food in his mouth..

Kinda looks like I'm half kissing, half.. humming to my food? 'Twas very delicious though!

Before we got bowls and silverware..

This is how I ate breakfast:
This is to show that the bowl came from a set of serving bowls
It is so hard to eat cereal with a teaspoon!

We now have an assortment of dishes, very much not matching, but much better than serving bowls and teaspoons (:

Yes, we're still alive

And so freaking happy!! We're married!!!! It honestly is the best thing in the world. I don't know why everyone's not married. Being able to say, to your best friend, "Hey, let's go home. I'm tired." and having that "home" be the same place for both of you! Or falling asleep to a movie while cuddling, and not having to get up when the movie's over to go to your separate apartments. Being able to have dinner ready when Cody gets home from a long day of work. Going to our new ward and introducing ourselves as Shaylin and Cody Brunson, who just got married almost 3 weeks ago (:

Anyways, we've been reallllly super busy with school, work for Cody, and trying to get our house organized and all of our crap put away! Hopefully within the next month or so, we'll have it all finished and I can take pictures of our cute little home (:
